Heitor Villa-Lobos
Villa Lobos was born in Rio de Janeiro on the 5th of May 1887. He was conductor and composer, received a good musical direction as a child. In the year 1915 Villa-Lobos began his career as a musician, already had 19 years when he made his first compositions. In 1922 participated in the week of Art held in São Paulo, in 1923 Villa Lobos traveled to Europe and only returned to Brazil in 1929. Many orchestras were directed by him. Writing various compositions, organized choir of 12,000 voices in Sao Paulo in 1931 - the event was of great importance in South America, made several trips around the world enthusiastically driving their compositions as a composer, founded the folk in Brazil, was very encouraged Debussh Bach and Stravinsky, Villa Lobos traveled to Brazil several times doing his research and writing in his journal the many forms of Brazilian folk music, and then analyze and form their compositions. There are many pieces he composed: the ones that stood out were the cries of 16 in number, these cries were made in the period 1920 to 1929, there are over 1000 known compositions, besides those disappeared. During his lifetime he received 24 titles of the Institute of France, Member of the Academy of Fine Arts in New York and Commander of the Order of Merit of Brazil. His death occurred on 17 November 1959, his full name is: Heitor Villa Lobos.
